I’m just getting into ZBrush and head sculptures. The goal in this project is to completely finish a human head including textures, materials and lighting inside Zbrush. I’m not sweating too much about a correct anatomy, although I will give my best in the texturing.
I explored some techniques for creating a skin of an old man – wrinkles, skin deformations, old muscles and such. I added some details to the composition.
Pipe it is, pretending I’m happy with the geometry.
I added wrinkles, skin and leather definition to my sculpture. I used 3D layers for those details just in case I want to exaggerate them farther. On to colors.
Skin Colors. Blocked facial temperature zones and added mottling pass.
Old white skin color.
Geometry and texture maps exported to 3ds max. SS Fast Skin shader used in a mentalray studio light scene.
Here are the textures I used in 3ds max with mentalray, exported from Zbrush.
